Gesture Synth Weld Vercel App is a hands-controlled synthesizer that runs directly in the browser. The product pairs MediaPipe Hands gesture recognition with a Web Audio API engine to translate webcam input into a continuous, gesture-driven musical performance. There is no install, no MIDI controller, and no virtual keyboard in sight: visitors only need the URL, a webcam, and the willingness to move their hands.
The visual design is intentionally minimal so visitors can focus on motion rather than menus. A dark stage hosts the camera feed and an amber monospace HUD. The current chord appears in large letters at the bottom, an eight-segment volume meter climbs on the right, a tone display reports distortion depth, and a density read-out shows how many notes are stacked. A small key selector at the top lets visitors pick any of the twelve chromatic roots, defaulting to A at 220Hz.
The audio engine combines a configurable oscillator bank, a low-pass filter with a sweeping cutoff, and a WaveShaper distortion node so the same gesture can swing between clean pads and aggressive leads. A chord map translates recognised gestures into scale-degree stacks, with the right hand able to shift voicings up an octave for instant fuller harmony. Six Roman-numeral gestures are supported by default.
Up to two hands can drive the instrument at the same time, allowing two-handed inputs to stack dense chords, widen intervals, or trigger complementary motifs. Because every gesture is mapped to a sonic event, the experience feels like an interactive composition, and intentional silence is treated with the same care as a held chord.
Gesture Synth Weld Vercel App is well suited for sound designers exploring camera-driven instruments, music educators looking for an engaging demo, indie performers who need a portable rig, and curious users who want to play music without traditional hardware. Because the experience is hosted on Vercel, the URL and a webcam are all that is required to begin.
